CPC Administrative Assistant Job Description
The Session is seeking qualified applicants for a new administrative position. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the execution of a variety of tasks that are critical to the smooth operation of Community Presbyterian Church’s day-to-day business. The successful applicant, in addition to adorning a life of exemplary Christian character, will excel in communication skills, be highly detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
The position is largely at-home, roughly 10–15 hours/week, and will work closely with and report directly to the Pastor.

Skills and Competencies:
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficient with MailChimp, Squarespace, Google Docs, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign in particular)—or teachability with these programs.
Highly detail-oriented and outstanding organization in coordination, planning, and scheduling.
Ability to develop, meet, and implement timelines.
Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
Highly proactive with a sense for recognizing and solving communication deficiencies.
Able to handle confidential information with appropriate care and prudence.
Ability to work independently.
2–3 years of similar work experience is preferred.
The Administrative Assistant would:
Create the weekly bulletin. This would include working with Printmill to ensure it or any other material are printed on time and delivered to the church before Sunday worship.
Upload the bulletin online and update the website weekly.
Ensure that the church calendar is correct and regularly updated on Google.
Send out the weekly servant schedule, and handle any ensuing scheduling issues.
In conjunction with Pastor Cruse, create and send out the weekly Midweek Memo.
Maintain the library: adding new titles, cataloguing returned books, etc.
Oversee the updating of directory 1–2 times a year.
Under the oversight of Pastor Cruse, reach out to guest ministers when pulpit supply is needed. Interact with guest ministers to obtain necessary information for bulletins.
Coordinate with treasurer to ensure the guest preacher is paid an appropriate and timely honorarium.
Coordinate with treasurer to ensure the financial information for the bulletin is updated monthly.
Keep the bulletin boards at church updated, including the member board.
Maintain a point of contact list for the various ministries of the church.
Reply to those who use the contact feature on the church website.
Regularly check snail mail and voice mail at church, and reply when needed.
Maintain a facility use calendar so that no ministries or events overlap.
Complete other administrative work as arises or is deemed necessary by Pastor or session.
Hours
10–15 hours a week.
Flexible vacation or travel schedule, but must coordinate with Pastor Cruse.
